Marketplace Manager Bot (v1)
Garrett Shackelford
Objective: Help outfitters manage their presence across external marketplaces (e.g. FishingBooker, Guidesly, Captain Experiences) directly from Mallard Bay—no need to log into other platforms.
What We Need
- Calendar Sync
When a booking is made on Mallard Bay, block off the same dates on other platforms to avoid double bookings.
- Message Relay
Surface messages from other marketplaces inside our CRM. Allow outfitters to reply from within Mallard Bay, and have those messages sent through the external platform.
- Performance Monitoring
Display basic metrics (views, bookings, messages) from connected listings in the outfitter dashboard.
- Listing Mapping
Detect and map existing outfitter listings across other platforms to their Mallard Bay account.
Why It Matters
We often hear “I’m not getting bookings from Mallard Bay”—but that’s only because outfitters compare us to marketplaces whose entire business is demand aggregation.
That’s not us.
Our marketplace is a bonus, not the core product. What we're building is infrastructure—a tech-enabled service layer that lets outfitters run their business, not just chase bookings.
By helping guides capture visibility everywhere while managing it from here, we remove ourselves from the comparison. We're not just another listing site—we're defining a new category we can own.
The Platforms below have proven success here but not on this level. They are API driven with larger platforms like: Get Your Guide, TripAdvisor, Airbnb, etc. Missing the trusted more niche marketplaces we are competing against.

I think there would be an interesting play to be the layer beneath Airbnb as well for our outfitters that want to list their lodging availability on other marketplaces. Also adds a layer of complexity to it. I also think we may need to choose which platform we'd want to integrate or work with first rather than trying to work on all 3 at the same time bc they will all have different levels of complexity to the integration. Fishingbooker would be the logical first step
